All of the university’s digital content must be digitally accessible. The means it should be able to be consumed in full by everyone, including people with visual and/or hearing impairments, mobility issues, and those who are neurodivergent or have learning difficulties.

This is set out in the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations. But this is about more than legal obligations, this is about equality and inclusion - ensuring our content is accessible to all.
Come to our workshop on Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 21st covering what digital accessibility is, why it is important and simple steps you can take to ensure your digital content is accessible.

Who it is for: The workshop is aimed at people who do digital communications as part of their work, which includes comms professionals, admin staff and project managers, but it will also be relevant to researchers and research assistants who do digital comms as part of their roles.
Speaker biographies
Charlotte Browning works in the Digital Learning Team at Saïd Business School and leads a network of Digital Accessibility Champions, with membership from within both the school and the wider university. She also chairs Saïd Enabled, an Employee Resource Group focused on providing support and community for staff with disabilities, impairments and neurodivergence.
Ben Tillyer is Head of Digital Accessibility at the University of Oxford, where he leads the development of strategy and practice to ensure inclusive digital services across the institution. He brings extensive experience from roles in industry and consultancy, has contributed to international accessibility standards (WCAG), and is a co-founder of A11y North, a charity promoting digital accessibility awareness.
