What Works - how to collaborate well with non academic partners

This session brings together researchers from across the Department of Economics to reflect on their experiences of working with non-academic partners throughout the research lifecycle.
Through a series of short presentations, speakers will share practical insights into developing and sustaining collaborations with governments, NGOs, charities, businesses, and other external organisations.
The discussion will explore the realities of partnership working in practice: how collaborations are initiated, what contributes to their success, the challenges that can arise, and what researchers might do differently in future. Speakers will draw on a range of experiences, from long-standing partnerships to newer forms of impact-focused and co-produced research.
Relevant to academics at all career stages, the session aims to provide an honest and practical perspective on engaging beyond the university, highlighting lessons learned and opportunities for meaningful collaboration.
