The event brings together an exceptional group of international speakers and institutional leaders working across music technology, sound studies, museum practice, and interdisciplinary research, including Eric de Visscher (former Artistic Director of IRCAM and former Director of the Musée de la Musique, Paris), Marcelo Wanderley (Director of CIRMMT, Montréal), R. We especially encourage postgraduate students to attend the dedicated Career Pathways session on Monday 22 June (16.00–17.00), which will focus on professional trajectories in music technology, sound art, interdisciplinary research, and sound in museums. The session will feature an open conversation with Eric de Visscher, Professor R. Benjamin Knapp, and Professor Marcelo Wanderley, moderated by Jessie Edgar, and will offer an opportunity to discuss different institutional, creative, and research pathways in these rapidly developing fields.
Students are also encouraged to attend the wider programme.
Please RSVP to research@music.ox.ac.uk by Friday 12 June indicating the sessions you plan to attend, so that we can keep track of numbers. For the programme on Tuesday 23 June, please simply indicate ‘Tuesday morning session’ (you do not need to indicate individual sessions).
