 , we will hear from Prof Denize Atan\, Margaret Ogilvie Professor of Optha
 lmology\, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences\, on Wednesday 23 
 September\, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm\, at BDI. \n\nTitle: What can the eye tell

 atrium\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, I will introduce the concept of oculomi
 cs and highlight the field’s rapid expansion\, driven by the availabilit
 y of large-scale population and clinical cohort datasets that combine eye 
 imaging with advanced analytical approaches\, including AI. I will also di
 scuss my own clinical and research interests in oculomics\, and outline my
  vision for developing this area of research in Oxford. \n\nBio\nDenize At
 an is the Margaret Ogilvie Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of
  Oxford and a Consultant Neuro-ophthalmologist at the Oxford Eye Hospital.
  She studied medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford before c
 ompleting specialist training in ophthalmology and a PhD on the genetics o
 f inflammatory eye disease at the University of Bristol. She also undertoo
 k research at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto on the 
 genetics of brain and eye development. Her research focuses on the genetic
 s of eye and brain disease\, and she is passionate about public engagement
  with science and promoting equality\, diversity and inclusion in medicine
