DESCRIPTION:Bio: \nSallie is an internationally recognised scholar in agei
 ng\, disability and rehabilitation. She is also an experienced methodologi
 st in the area of clinical trials and high quality evaluation of health ca
 re practice.\n\nShe was previously the Director of the Centre for Statisti
 cs in Medicine\, Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit and Centre for Rehab
 ilitation Research at the University of Oxford. In 2020 Sallie served as a
  panel member and inter-disciplinary expert for the Higher Education Fundi
 ng Council of England Research Excellence Framework (REF) assessment phase
  a and is resuming this role for REF 2029. She is a member of the Health S
 ciences Panel for the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) in 2026. She has 
 served as a Chair of the Health Technology Assessment Board and other seni
 or roles in National Institute of Health Research. Sallie is a Non-Executi
 ve Director and Trustee of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Found
 ation Trust and is a Trustee of the Versus Arthritis charity.\n\nShe is Di
 rector of the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) https://www.exe
 terbrc.nihr.ac.uk/ and Deputy Director of the NIHR National School for Pri
 mary Care and is Primary Investigator on a number of significant NIHR fund
 ed research projects. She is theme lead for the rehabilitation strand of t
 he NIHR Exeter BRC's research portfolio\, which includes research on Multi
 ple Long Term Conditions (MLTC).\n\nSallie co-leads INTERSECT: Interdiscip
 linary Translational Rehabilitation Research Centre. The Centre brings tog
 ether research in rehabilitation\, aging\, orthopaedics\, sport science an
 d human performance using the cutting-edge facilities that Exeter has inve
 sted in to research human movement.\n\nSallie has a strong commitment to i
 mproving the lives of older people through excellent research that answers
  difficult questions and can inform policy making and commissioning. She w
 orks to ensure research is translated into practice and to drive up the qu
 ality of methods and reporting used in medical research. Sallie has mentor
 ed and supervised many early career scientists\, and is a strong advocate 
 for team working and gender equality in the work place.\n\nThere will be t
