 .\n\nYou are warmly invited to the eighteenth annual OxPeace Day-conferenc
 e\, which takes place in the 80th year since the inaugural meeting of the 
 UN General Assembly\, held in the Methodist Central Hall\, London in Janua
 ry-February 1946. That first meeting designed how the UN would operate to 
 fulfil its Charter.  Now in 2026 the UN exists in a world context that has
  undergone deep changes. What roles does\, or should\, the UN play now and
  in the future\, and how can it fulfil them?  This Conference will conside
 r the broad global picture\, and will home in on specific areas including 
 international law\, humanitarian action\, and peace operations. It will in
 troduce resources for commitment to peacebuilding in some major faiths\, w
 ith time for interaction\, reflection and discussion. Registration is enco
 uraged\, especially for catering purposes. Coffee\, tea\, and a sandwich l
 unch are provided.
