DESCRIPTION:Professor Miranda Fricker joined the NYU Philosophy Department
  in 2022\, where she is Julius Silver Professor of Philosophy and Co-Direc
 tor of the New York Institute of Philosophy. \n\nHer research lies primari
 ly in moral philosophy and social epistemology and is deeply informed by f
 eminist philosophy\, which has consistently shaped her approach to philoso
 phical inquiry. Her interest in feminist philosophy develops during an int
 erdisciplinary MA in Women’s Studies at the University of Kent\, Canterb
 ury\, which leads her back to graduate study in philosophy. She completes 
 her DPhil at the University of Oxford in 1996\, co-supervised by Sabina Lo
 vibond and Bernard Williams.\n\nProfessor Miranda Fricker will deliver the
