DESCRIPTION:Substance addiction continues to incur immense harm to physica
 l and mental health to the individual as well to family\, friends and wide
 r society. Despite this\, in the last few decades there have been very few
  new available treatments\, indeed some medications are no longer availabl
 e. This talk will describe the latest evidence from neuroimaging studies i
 n addiction about key brain areas and neuromodulators that are informing d
 evelopment of new treatments. It will also describe some clinical trials u
 sing novel approaches. The talk will also describe the activities of the A
 ddiction Healthcare Goals programme and opportunities for those interested
