DESCRIPTION:We would like to extend a warm invitation to an upcoming lectu
 re on Buddhist print culture by Professor Shih-shan Susan Huang from Rice 
 University. \n\nThe lecture is based on her new book\, The Dynamic Spread 
 of Buddhist Print Culture: Mapping Buddhist Book Roads in China and Its Ne
 ighbors. Prof Huang will explore the concept of the “Buddhist Book Roads
 ”\, tracing the transnational circulation of Buddhist print culture thro
 ugh illustrated books discovered in archaeological sites\, statues\, and m
 useum collections. Moving beyond a view of Buddhist woodblock prints as st
 atic artefacts\, she considers their significance within multicultural con
 texts and their transmission across networks within and beyond Asia.
