DESCRIPTION:This roundtable focuses on how researchers manage data in the
context of their own projects\, recognising that approaches vary widely ac
ross disciplines\, methods\, and research environments. Bringing together
panellists at different career stages\, the session offers an opportunity
to hear how data management is handled in practice\, from planning and org
anisation to longer-term storage and use.\n\nPanellists will reflect on th
e practical decisions involved in working with different types of data\, i
ncluding how they organise and update materials\, move between online and
offline systems\, and adapt their approaches as projects evolve. The discu
ssion will also consider common challenges in managing data over time and
how these are addressed in different research contexts.\n\nThe session is
participatory and discussion-led\, with space for questions\, shared exper
iences\, and reflection on participants’ own approaches to managing rese
arch data. It is open to DPhil students at any stage of their doctorate.\n
\n Objectives:\n\n• To explore research data management as a practical
aspect of the research process \n• To offer insight into how researcher
s organise and manage data across different contexts \n• To consider co
mmon challenges in data management and how they are addressed in practice
\n• To create space for discussion and reflection on participants’ ow
 n data management practices\n\nPanellists \n\nDr Maaret Jokela-Pansini (Re
search fellow\, School of Geography and the Environment)\n\nDr Russell Ka
pumha (Postdoctoral Researcher\, School of Archaeology)\n\nDr Emily Lewis-
Brown (Postdoctoral Research Associate\, Department of Biology)\n\nConvene
d and moderated by Dr Keiko Kanno
