DESCRIPTION:It is our pleasure to invite you to a cross-disciplinary clini
 cal research symposium in Gastroenterology\, Hepatology and Respiratory Me
 dicine to be held the Richard Doll Building\, Old Campus Road\, Oxford on 
 Thursday 7th May between 9.15am to 3pm.\nThe meeting has been organised by
  the Respiratory\, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Local Research Oversigh
 t Group (LROG) who have supported the OUH Research and Development team in
  the setup of clinical research in our specialist areas since the COVID-19
  pandemic.\n\nWe have arranged the event in view of the imminent changes i
 n local\, regional and national organisation and the associated changes in
  implementation of clinical research\, affecting all our teams.\n\nThe pur
 pose of the symposium are:\n	To highlight and celebrate success in tria
 ls\, especially those that have changed practice\n	To highlight new opp
 ortunities on-going studies and the cutting edge of our work\n	To discu
 ss the re-organisation of the research framework on a local\, regional and
  national level\n	To allow discussion of the obstacles to success and t
 o problem solve\n	Finally\, to provide an opportunity for networking ac
 ross disciplines\n\nWe are delighted to be joined by the regional leads in
  our specialist areas as well as by Tracy Harman\, Deputy Director of Stra
 tegic Development\, RDN Coordinating Centre (RDNCC) to deliver a talk on t
 he national research vision for the next decades and by our newly appointe
 d leads of the new Specialist Medicine and Surgery\, Renal\, and Gastroent
 erology Research Delivery Groups (RDGs) at OUH.  Shahista Hussein\, Head o
 f R&D Governance from OUH Research & Development will be talking about the
