 rvivors of genocide and sexual violence around the world.\n\nIn 2014\, ISI
 S attacked Nadia Murad’s hometown in Sinjar and began a genocidal campai
 gn against her community\, the Yazidis\, in Iraq. After escaping from capt
 ivity\, Nadia devoted her life to fighting against the use of sexual viole
 nce as a weapon of war. Visiting Professor Clooney has been Nadia’s coun
 sel for the past ten years. Together\, they successfully advocated for the
  creation of a United Nations team to investigate ISIS crimes. And since t
 hen\, Visiting Professor Clooney has represented Nadia’s family member i
 n the first trial to lead to a conviction for genocide as well as other Ya
 zidi women in cases leading to convictions for crimes against humanity and
  war crimes against Yazidis.\n\nNadia Murad is a Nobel Peace Prize Laureat
 e and UNODC Goodwill Ambassador\, and is a leading advocate for survivors 
 of genocide and sexual violence.\n\nPlease note that this event is for Uni
