OPDC seminar: Cell Atlases for Brain Health and Disease: Resources and Insights from the Allen Institute
Audience: Member of University - ALL Format: In PersonJoin scientists from the Allen Institute for an interactive seminar
Thursday, 16 July 2026, 9.30am to 11.30am
The session will highlight the Seattle Alzheimer’s Disease Brain Cell Atlas (SEA-AD), along with complementary resources for Parkinson’s disease and broader efforts to build comprehensive human and mammalian brain atlases. Participants will learn how these openly available datasets can be used to explore gene expression patterns across brain cell types, investigate disease-associated cellular changes, identify vulnerable cell populations, and generate new biological hypotheses.
The seminar will conclude with a hands-on discussion of data portals, analytical tools, and strategies for accessing, integrating, and applying Allen Institute resources in ongoing research projects. This will take place from 10:30am – 11:30am.
