Towards a Grammar of Health: From Deep Phenotyping to Longitudinal Prediction
Audience: Member of University - ALL Format: HybridWednesday, 1 July 2026, 2pm to 3pm
For our next talk, in the Digital Phenotyping seminar series, we will hear from Prof Alexandre Perera i Lluna, Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and Coordinator of the b2slab – Bioinformatics and Biomedical Signals Laboratory on Wednesday 1 July, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, at BDI.
Title: TBC
Date: Wednesday 1 July
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Venue: BDI/OxPop, Seminar Room 0; followed by refreshments in the atrium
Abstract
This talk spans some of our activity from rare to prevalent diseases, bringing together collaborative intelligence and longitudinal prediction. We will show how the Share4Rare data science backend structures patient-reported data and uses graph-based “people-like-me” similarity to route questions and surface expertise in the context of deep phenotyping. We then will move to our work with routine health records, where deep sequence models learn representations to forecast risks, treatment changes, and HbA1c targets in type 2 diabetes, revealing meaningful patient trajectories, paving the path to our first Foundation Models in Health.
